Hellloooo

Hi there bloggy fans! I just thought I would take over Teresa's blog for the day since she hasn't posted in over a week. I know you guys are on the edge of your chairs wondering what is happening at their house:) I'll take up for her and say that Thanksgiving, new puppy, traveling all over 2 states in 6 days, basketball practices, school, playdates, oh and crate training the little ankle biter is enough to drive any mom insane, but at least she can do is post right? We'll give her a break:) Until then, I'll pop up here and there and give you updates on them. After all, what are sisters for right??

Teresa!! I love you so much!! You are the best big sister and I MISS you so much. I miss seeing y'all come by my house and I miss the girls running to my door and I miss hearing you sing in church and I just miss y'all!! I love you and will see you at Christmas!!

huggs and kisses to y'all!!

I have been unable to post due to the crazy schedule that I am enjoying lately. Up next for our crew is a trip to MS. What fun we are going to have! This is the first time in a while that I've actually been excited about going. My kiddos are beside themselves w/anticipation! About the only thing I'm not looking forward to is the 8 hour drive!
My goal for the next few days is to have a heart of graditude. I have so much to be thankful for and some days I act as though I have nothing to be thankful for at all. In all things I will give thanks....may it be so!

I LOVE THIS WEATHER! It finally feels like fall. On tap for the day C and T try out for basketball, H and AG have a birthday party this afternoon. One Saturday I am going to have absolutely nothing to do...but it won't be any time soon. I think I'm going to try to get a few Christmas decos up today in between all the activities. One thing at a time!

My husband and I are in Lakeland for 3 days while my mom keeps the girls and carries on 'my' schedule. We don't get to do this very often, so I'm trying to make the most of it! For starters, we are staying in a hotel that is on the property of the coolest outdoor mall. This is a blessing, since I left my jeans and shoes(except the shoes I wore here)in my closet. It would appear that I planned that, so that I could go shopping-NOT! I slept until 9am and am enjoying some quiet time. I know my mom is going to enjoy spending time with the girls and I am blessed that she is able to help!
My cell phone rang this morning @6:45-it was my tween-"Mom! Where is my backpack?!" I love being needed.

Ok-it is too hot to be November! Sunday, Nov. 9 my husband and I will celebrate 17 years of marriage. I will have to say that it really does seem like yesterday that I saw him on the campus of Delta State University and thought, "OOh-he's a cutie!" Who would have thought 21 years later...I love him more than life itself. Not to say that we don't have our tough days. Those usually come when I choose to turn into my 'moody' self-imagine that. One thing that he has taught me over these years together is to communicate-communicate-communicate. I come from a family where that didn't happen all that much, so I've been a real slow learner, but he's never given up on me. good night-except for it's already tomorrow-1:14am!!!!! Happy Anniversary!!!!

Good morning! What a crazy week it has been! I have been reminded that we are called to pray for those in authority over us. Romans 13 is very clear and sobering-"Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists God, and those who resist, will bring judgment on themselves." My calling is clear~to teach my girls as well as myself to pray for the new president and his staff~regardless of our 'feelings'. He has been placed in authority over us and if we truly believe that God is in control we should not be all sad and whiney. Get over it(I'm talking to myself:) It is so evident that God is calling us as believers to 'humble ourselves and pray!'(2Chronicles 7:14). With all that said, I'm out of here for today-I think He's given me clear instruction for today....

Halloween

Halloween and trick or treating has never been a big deal here...I am the mom who digs through the dress up box at 4pm on Oct. 31 looking for the 'perfect' costume. Yes, I go all out. It was really nice when we lived in GA b/c my wonderful neighbor made costumes for her daughter from age 2 until about 10, so my girls always got the reward of her creativity...I miss her! Anyway, last night my youngest-Anna Grace- wanted to be a lion(which came right out of her trusty dress up box). Hailey and I had her face all painted and her costume on-She looked adorable!!!! We were about to walk out the door and the tears started pouring. "Mom! I just want to be a REAL GIRL..I don't want to be a lion!" All that work---what did I do? Well, I've learned to choose my battles and this was not one of them. I sent her to her room to change into 'real girl' clothes-t-shirt and jeans-took off her sweet lion make-up and presto-there's my sweet real girl! Happy as ever, as were we all!

Faith...

"Without FAITH it is impossible to please Him." Hebrews11:6 This is my 'verse' for the day today. Webster defines faith as 'confident belief or trust in a person, idea, or thing'. That seems so easy~then we face difficulties~the loss of a loved one, loss of a job, uncertain financial times, just everyday 'stuff'. We have a choice-we can lean on Him and put our faith into action and say-'though He slay me, I will still trust Him' or we can crumble under the pressure. I desire to choose the trust-faith-confidence in Him. Sometimes I choose faith-other times-I fail and seem to have no faith at all! Thankfully, He's there to pick me up and say-'Let's try this again, child!'
I choose faith today!
Thank you, thank you, little sister, for this awesome new background!

Selecting a Blog Name

Well~I've made the plunge into the world of bloggers!!! As I try to think of a really cool name~I'm listening to my pastor speak on Isaiah 62. The subtitle of that chapter reads-The Lord gives Zion a new name! As a follower of Christ this is so exciting! When He returns-my name will no longer be-Deserted or Empty-(which is how I feel somedays-can anyone relate???) But my new name will be The One the Lord Delights In! To think that I am HIS delight is so amazing---Oh that I would live in light of that!!! whew-Ok, that's my sermonette for the day! I am a mom of 4 girls-13(oh my!), 11, 5, and 3. I hope to share my challenges, triumphs, ups, downs and everything in between about this crazy life that I live and love! Besides my wonderful girlies, I have a husband who is absolutely the BEST man a woman could have-He helps me so much around here-I would be lost without him. Anyway, hopefully I will stick with this and have fun in the process...Here we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
